EC Chair calls for action to address low voter turnout
The Electoral Commission (EC) has expressed concern over the low voter turnout in past elections, which has resulted in the wastage of ballot papers despite the government spending large sums of money to print them abroad. The Chairperson of the Commission, Justice Simon Byabakama, says there is a need for collective action from political parties, candidates, and other stakeholders to mobilize the public to participate in voting. As Nobert Atukunda reports, he made the remarks during a meeting with the Equal Opportunities Commission.
