Flooding at Chibumba school leaves 20 pupils hospitalized
At least 20 pupils of Chibumba Primary School in Chahafi Town Council, Kisoro District, are admitted to Chahafi Health Center Four with malaria following the flooding of their school. The headteacher informed district and education ministry officials that the learners have no option but to wade through the water to get to the classrooms, which are also flooded. The Uganda Red Cross Society donated tents, mats, mosquito nets, blankets, soap, and jerry cans, among other things, to help the school. The Red Cross has also erected three emergency mobile shelters.
