Fr Charles Onen advocates for clergy's political engagement
Despite a firm stance by the Catholic Church against clergy running for public office, Hon. Charles Onen, a suspended priest, encourages active engagement by the clergy. Onen is critical of this disengagement from politics, arguing that it contributes to the election of bad leaders. The 48-year-old told Jackson Onyango that he hopes to return to the pulpit once his term in Parliament ends or when he quits politics.
