Journalist body calls on gov’t to withdraw advertising directive
The Human Rights Network for Journalists Uganda has asked President Museveni to lift the directive he recently issued on advertising of government programmes. Museveni's directive ring-fences advertising funds to state-owned Uganda Broadcasting Corporation (UBC) and the New Vision. HRNJ Executive Director Robert Ssempala says they could go to court if the directive is not lifted.
