Kinkiizi Anglican Diocese mobilises residents to plant trees
The Anglican Diocese of Kinkiizi has unveiled a strategy to sensitize people on environmental protection in Kanungu district. This comes on the back of several climate change effects that have impacted the area in different ways.
Kanungu district is a disaster-prone area that receives a heavy drought in some months of the year as well as heavy rains in other months that cause floods leading to soil erosion majorly in hilly areas.
The move is aimed at sensitizing community members on ways they can conserve the environment for enhanced resilience and improved income and livelihoods.
