Security deployment ahead of NUP headquarters opening
Security was heightened in some areas of Kampala and especially in Makerere Kavule where the National Unity Platform was preparing to commission its headquarters. Nobody was allowed entry with the Police saying the heavy deployment was in anticipation of public disorder that would arise from NUP members gathering and yet there were other events organised by the government that would be happening at the same time.
