Soroti Fruit Factory to be privatized after years of making losses
Barely four years after being commissioned as a state-run project to massively buy oranges and other fruits from farmers at competitive prices, there are plans to hand over the Soroti Fruit factory to private investors. The factory was opened by President Museveni in 2019. Continuous financial losses since its inception four years ago are one of the reasons it is being privatized.
