Speaker Among urges UBOS to improve enumeration exercise
Speaker of Parliament Anita Annet Among has urged the Uganda Bureau of Statistics to increase the speed at which the 2024 Population census is being carried out. According to Among, a quick interaction with members of the public has revealed that the majority of the population has yet to be enumerated, raising questions as to whether the census will be completed within the designated 10 days. But in response, UBOS Executive Director Dr Chris Mukiza has reassured the Speaker that the process is moving on well with around 5.7 Ugandans so far enumerated.
