U.S. funding cuts hit women’s health services in Uganda
Women’s rights activists say the recent U.S. presidential directives to stop funding for certain organizations in underdeveloped countries have disrupted progress, especially in promoting comprehensive women’s reproductive health services. They say the directives restricted financial support for NGOs that provide or advocate for such services and women’s health, adding that this has created uncertainty for many local organizations.
