Uganda’s exports show mixed performance in 2024, gold remains top earner
Uganda's exports posted mixed fortunes in 2024, according to PACEID’s annual performance report. Exports to the U.S. rose sharply despite the end of AGOA, while trade with the DRC rebounded by 4.72%. However, markets like Algeria and the Balkans remain sluggish.
Gold continues to lead Uganda’s exports, followed by coffee, fresh foods, and vegetables. The report also highlights persistent challenges—poor storage and transport infrastructure remain major hurdles.
