UNRA initiates dredging operation at Pakwach bridge to address floating vegetation threat
A team from the Uganda National Roads Authority is conducting a dredging operation at Pakwach Bridge to prevent the accumulation of floating vegetation on the Nile River, which poses a threat to the bridge's structure. Allan Ssempebwa, UNRA Public Relations Officer, says that the floating vegetation represents a new papyrus development at the location, necessitating a response. However, according to Ssempebwa, the increasing water levels on various water bodies in the country have affected water transport systems due to the accumulating floating vegetation.
