COSASE has summoned former employees of Uganda Airlines who were in charge of the Bombardier aircraft, widely known for being outdated and difficult to source spare parts for. This is one of the reasons cited for the company’s loss of 237 billion shillings during the 2023/2024 financial year. The company’s management also attributes its lack of profitability to the high consumption of jet fuel and the leasing of planes for passenger transportation. These individuals appeared before the Committee of Statutory Authorities and State Enterprises (COSASE) to address the Auditor General’s report findings and defend their actions.
