After more than two decades of construction, St. Paul’s Azinzin Church in Koboko is edging closer to completion—but church leaders say a funding shortfall of over 900 million Ugandan shillings is standing in the way. Construction of the church, which began 24 years ago to accommodate a growing congregation, reached a major milestone in 2015 when former Archbishop Silvanus Wani laid the foundation stone. A mini fundraiser held in 2018 saw President Yoweri Museveni pledge 1.1 billion shillings toward the roofing of the church, but according to the Church Organising Committee (COC), the pledge remains unfulfilled.
