Government launches new ferry route from Nakiwogo to Kalangala

The Minister of Works and Transport, Gen. Katumba Wamala, has launched a new ferry route from Port Alice in Nakiwogo to Kiwungu Bukasa in Kalangala District. This decision was made after the government partnered with National Oil Distributors, the operators of the MV Kalangala, to introduce the MV Nodl to provide additional support as the government prepares to introduce a new, larger vessel permanently. The MV Nodl will now sail across the lake twice a week to transport locals and their merchandise.
