Amid tight security, supporters of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) party held a procession that paused traffic as they marched to the Electoral Commission office in Namuwongo to submit the required signatures of registered voters ahead of the presidential nominations slated for September 23rd and 24th.
The opposition Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) party followed suit, submitting at least 100 signatures from 98 districts across the country for verification—two weeks ahead of the nomination dates.
