Chief Justice proposes formal ADR to ease case backlog

The Chief Justice of Uganda, Alfonse Owiny-Dollo, has revealed that the Judiciary is considering formalizing alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms to help address the growing backlog of cases in the courts.

Justice Owiny-Dollo made the remarks while presiding over the annual Nkumba University Lawyers’ Day, which marked 20 years of training legal professionals under the theme, “Honoring the Past, Celebrating the Present, and Shaping the Future.”
