Civil society calls on government to boost water innovation

Civil society groups are urging the Ugandan government to significantly increase investment in science and innovation to tackle persistent challenges in water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH). Speaking at the launch of the 15th Annual Civil Society Forum for WASH, UWASNET Executive Director Yunia Musaazi stressed the urgent need for innovative solutions to improve access and quality in the sector. Meanwhile, State Minister for Water and Environment Beatrice Anywar highlighted the importance of public awareness and efficient use of existing resources. The forum served as a platform for stakeholders to align on priorities for transforming Uganda’s WASH sector.
