The Inspectorate of Government (IG) is urging cultural institutions and Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) to join efforts in fighting corruption in the Tooro sub-region by educating the public on how to report it. During a meeting with Tooro Kingdom leaders and the Rwenzori Anti-Corruption Coalition, Christine Lwamwaka from the IG emphasised that combating corruption is a shared national responsibility, not just a government task. She noted that the IG is understaffed and that partnering with CSOs can help extend its effectiveness. Engaging local cultural structures will also aid in spreading anti-corruption messages within communities.
