FUFA has ended weeks of uncertainty over the future of Paul Put’s contract as Uganda Cranes head coach by renewing the Belgian’s contract until 2028. The announcement was made today at FUFA Kadiba Stadium by FUFA CEO Edgar Watson, who stated that the federation had moved to “bring stability” ahead of next month’s Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco.
Put was appointed in November 2023, and under his leadership, the team secured qualification for AFCON 2025 and performed well in competitive fixtures, winning 12 out of 18 games for a 67 percent success rate.
