In Kyotera District, Ronald Ssendagire, a supporter of the Opposition National Unity Platform (NUP) who was arrested on charges of assaulting police officers and attempted murder, has been released on bail. According to Twaha Kasirye, the Greater Masaka Regional Police Spokesperson, the suspect, while moving in a convoy of Kyotera County MP aspirant Paul Mpalanyi on October 23, allegedly assaulted a police officer and some supporters of NRM’s Kyeyune Kasolo, Mpalanyi’s political opponent.
