The Ministry of Water and Environment has urged private sector players to play a more active role in promoting sustainability and environmental conservation. During the launch of Uganda Breweries Limited’s (UBL) Sustainability Report, Alfred Okot Okidi, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Water and Environment, emphasized the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap in access to clean water and addressing the impacts of climate change. He highlighted that efforts such as conserving 132,000 cubic meters of water directly benefit communities in areas like Bwaise and Wakiso, which are experiencing water shortages.
