With Uganda’s population growing, so does the demand for blood. The Uganda Blood Transfusion Service (UBTS) has set a national target of 460,000 units this year to meet World Health Organization recommendations. To reach this goal, UBTS is partnering with government, public, and private organizations to boost adult participation, while ensuring that all donors receive counseling and thorough screening to maintain the highest standards of safety and blood quality.
