Government Releases 75 million euros to start Standard Gauge Railway Project

There is hope that the construction of the Standard Gauge Railway in Uganda will finally move away from planning to implementation after the government released 75m Euros as a commitment for the limited notice to proceed. A national content symposium has been organised to take place this Friday, 29th August, to ensure local engagement in the construction of the SGR. The project management unit represented by Canon. Engineer Perez Wamburu, the SGR Project Coordinator, spoke to journalists today.
