In a major effort to improve neonatal health and combat malnutrition in Uganda, a team of 73 specialised medical professionals from Belgium has arrived to support vulnerable communities in the Lango sub-region.
Their mission includes training local health workers to reduce neonatal mortality and address the high rates of stunting and wasting among children in the region.
The 10-day outreach program — organised by Together We Are Strong in Uganda in partnership with the central government — will provide free medical care to more than 600 people across Lira City, Lira District, Oyam, Kwania, and Alebtong.
