The Deputy Mayor of Hoima City, Sylvia Nalumaga, has urged the government to start funding selected private health facilities to help decongest Hoima Regional Referral Hospital, which is struggling to cope with the city’s growing population.
Nalumaga noted that extending government support—particularly to private hospitals owned by religious institutions—would allow more patients to access quality healthcare services from these facilities, easing pressure on the regional referral hospital.
