Kyagulanyi supporters throng party headquarters to append signatures

The Opposition National Unity Platform party has started a new drive to collect more signatures. It comes a day after the Electoral Commission in a letter issued last evening, said the party did not raise the required signatures for nomination of the party president. The Electoral Commission says that so far, out of 27 aspiring candidates who have been notified , only President Museveni, the NRM party candidate and Forum for Democratic Change’s Nandala Mafabi have submitted the required number of signatures.NUP officials are confident that the missing signatures will be secured ahead of Tuesday’s nomination.
