In Many functional democracies, no principle is more central to governance than the separation of powers. it is the notion of co-existence and interdependence of the three arms of government, the legislature, executive and judiciary ,with each acting as a check and balance on the other.The 1995 constitution laid the groundwork for the doctrine but the shadow of an imperial executive looms large, as we explore tonight.
