UAE is now Uganda’s top export market and key investor

Uganda’s partnership with the United Arab Emirates has entered a new phase, driven by record trade and fresh investment deals. Trade between the two countries now stands at 2.85 billion dollars, with UAE investments topping 3.5 billion, making it Uganda’s leading export market and top investor. In an exclusive interview at the Uganda Media Centre, Ambassador Zaake Kibedi announced the upcoming Uganda–UAE Business Forum in Kampala later this month, following a series of major agreements, including a four-billion-dollar oil refinery deal in Hoima.
