MUSEVENI IN TEREGO:Residents decry large refugee population

After a one-day rest, the National Resistance Movement Presidential candidate, Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, extended his campaign to Terego and Yumbe districts today. Here, residents and local leaders outlined key demands they expect him to address. These demands include the creation of three more districts out of Yumbe, a pronouncement of the government’s position on the escalating border conflict between Uganda and South Sudan in Kochi, Kei, Kerwa, and Midigo sub-counties, which has caused loss of lives and properties, and the improvement of social and economic infrastructure, among others.
