UHRC dismisses abduction claims by opposition

Officials from the Uganda Human Rights Commission say they have registered no abduction case in the run-up to the 2026 general polls. The commission chairperson, Mariam Wangadya has clarified that what a section of members of the public define as abduction is an arrest and that no complainant has yet come up to formally file a case.
