NUP faces internal rift amid alleged intimidation in Northern Uganda

Shifting to politics, internal tensions are surfacing within the National Unity Platform (NUP) as several supporters express dissatisfaction after missing out on nominations for local government seats. In Northern Uganda, where the next list of vetted candidates is expected today, Asega Habibu, the party’s Secretary for Mobilization, has accused security forces—allegedly UPDF officers—of intimidating and arresting NUP hopefuls.
