Plan International highlights persistent Child Marriage crisis in Uganda

Globally, child marriage remains a persistent challenge — nearly 1 in 5 girls are married before 18, and many more are at risk due to poverty, conflict, and harmful social norms. A report by Plan International Uganda has been launched today, unveiling the State of the World Girls’ report, titled ‘Let Me Be a Child, Not a Wife: Girls’ Experiences of Living Through Child Marriage.’ I am joined by Juliet Luutu Barasa from Plan International Uganda to understand why child marriage is rampant in Uganda.
