Researchers develop guidelines for HIV/AIDS treatment

A team of researchers at Makerere University College of Health Sciences has developed Uganda’s first procedural guidance for communicating individual pharmacogenomic results—findings that show how genes influence a person’s response to HIV drugs. The initiative aims to address ethical and social gaps in returning such sensitive results to research participants.
