Buyaga West Member of Parliament, Barnabas Tinkasimire, who recently lost in the NRM primaries, has announced his intention to contest as an independent candidate in next year’s general elections.

Speaking to journalists in Muhooro Town, Tinkasimire alleged that the primaries were rigged in favor of his opponent through a coordinated effort involving NRM politicians and Electoral Commission registrars.

Denis Namara, Uganda’s representative to the East African Legislative Assembly, emerged as the NRM flag bearer.
