Torrential rains have wreaked havoc across the Lango, Acholi, and Karamoja sub-regions, displacing hundreds and leaving a trail of destruction. Over 200 homes have been submerged, forcing many residents to seek refuge in schools, while others struggle to survive under dire conditions.
The relentless downpours have damaged vital infrastructure — washing away low-lying bridges, cutting off transport routes, and destroying farmlands. Key crops such as simsim, groundnuts, and beans have been decimated, posing a serious threat to food security in the region.
