PWDs call for more supportive schools in Hoima
Learners with disabilities in Hoima District are calling for support as many trek long distances in order to access education. According to Sophie Kaseregenyi, the Executive Director of Feeble Care Initiative Uganda, PWDs in Hoima District have to move long distances to find schools and most of learners with disabilities cannot move entirely. Kaseregenyi says the status-quo has left many of them uneducated and illiterate. She adds that there is no single school for special needs education in Hoima District and urged the central government to ensure that it establishes at least one school for special needs education.
