Contaminated alcohol blamed for 10 deaths
Kyotera District health officials have confirmed that the consumption of waragi laced with methanol is the cause of several deaths in five villages of Kyanika Sub-county. Some residents were attributing the mysterious death to witchcraft. The development has prompted police to carry out an operation in which several waragi brewers were arrested and their locally-made gin confiscated.
