Contracted company says over 40,000 digital number plates installed on vehicles and motorcycles
Officials of M/S Joint Stock Company Global, the company that was contracted to implement the Intelligent Transport Monitoring System project, say that since last year, they have installed digital plates on 40,000 vehicles and motorcycles. They say the voluntary enrollment for vehicles and motorcycles will run for two years. The number plates contain a microchip that enables the police to track vehicles fitted with digital number plates in case of theft or other crimes.
