Deputy Chief Justice advocates for mediation to ease court backlog
Deputy Chief Justice Richard Butera is calling on the public to embrace mediation as one way of settling their disputes out of court. Butera's call came during a training session for mediators in Fort Portal, which will help in the process of mediation in the Rwenzori region. According to the Deputy Chief Justice, the move is intended to ensure access to justice for all, empower communities to take control of their own justice processes, and help reduce the heavy case backlog.
