Deputy Speaker refuses to respond to allegations about MP cash bonanza
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament, Thomas Tayebwa, has asked lawmakers not to involve the House in outside dealings. He made the remarks in response to questions surrounding the ongoing saga where Members of Parliament are accused of receiving 100 million shillings each as an appreciation for passing the Coffee Amendment Bill. The money is also said to be intended to prepare the legislators for the handling of the UPDF Amendment Bill, which will soon be tabled on the floor of Parliament.
