EACOP construction progresses, 70km completed
The construction of the East African Crude Oil Pipeline (EACOP) is making notable strides, with 70 kilometers of the 1,443-kilometer pipeline already completed. The project, which connects Kabale to the Port of Tanga in Tanzania, is expected to be finished within the next 20 months, significantly impacting the ten districts it traverses, including Hoima, Kakumiro, Rakai, Sembabule, Gomba, Kyankwazi, Kikuube, Mubende, and Lwengo. Hadi Watfa, the Delivery Manager overseeing the above-ground installation, is optimistic about the project’s progress.
