From barren to blooming: Luwero’s green transformation
Decades ago, the landscape of Luwero District was a barren expanse, emblematic of environmental neglect. However, today the region has undergone a dramatic transformation, particularly in Nandere, Nyimbwa sub-county. What was once a desolate area is now a flourishing forest, brimming with life and verdant greenery. The air is alive with the melodious songs of various bird and animal species, and a once-dried stream now gently meanders through the area, enriching the ecosystem. As Herbert Kamoga reports, this extraordinary turnaround is the result of the unwavering commitment of the church under the Diocese of Kasana-Luwero.
