Government boasts of progress in Karamoja disarmament
The government’s disarmament program in Karamoja under the Usalama kwa Wote initiative has made significant progress in reducing cattle rustling and restoring stability. Since 2021, security forces have recovered over 1,000 firearms, seized 9,000 rounds of ammunition, and rescued thousands of stolen cattle.
