ICC team starts verifying LRA war victims to make reparations
The Hague-based International Criminal Court has started registering victims of the Lord's Resistance Army insurgency to get details of those entitled to reparations.
In a February 2024 reparations order by the international court, war victims will get close to 200 billion shillings. ICC Outreach Officer for Uganda, Maria Kamara said in a televised conference on Tuesday that the court has trained and deployed 35 clerks in the four case locations in northern Uganda to identify and assess the victims' eligibility.
