Lawyer demands Court Martial Officers charged over Besigye's alleged abduction
One of the lawyers representing Dr. Kizza Besigye has written to the Police leadership, seeking criminal charges against members and officers of the Makindye General Court Martial who allegedly abducted and violated his client's rights. Dr. Kizza Besigye and Hajji Obeid Lutale were picked up in Nairobi last month and arraigned before the Court Martial on charges of terrorism and possession of ammunition. However, Kiiza argues that his clients are being held under the wrong laws and should be released immediately. He adds that those responsible for the abduction of Dr. Besigye and Kamulegeya should also face the law.
