Leaders call for aid over school under a tree
Authorities in Masindi district are calling for support to rescue Mihembero Primary School, where learners are studying under a tree, with teachers sharing toilets with the learners. Mihembero Primary School is a government-aided school located in Bwijanga Sub-county, Masindi District, with a population of over 400 learners. Ebeneza Musinguzi, the Chairman of the PTA of Mihembero Primary School, says the school has over 400 learners who are using one toilet with the teacher since the second one sank many years ago. Musinguzi adds that the learners are now openly defecating in the sugarcane plantations that are neighboring the school, hence calling for the temporary closure of the school to avoid risking the health of the learners.
