Lira market vendors decry conditions
It is a week since President Yoweri Museveni directed that vendors dealing in food items should sleep in their respective markets around the country as a way of controlling the spread of COVID-19. However, in Lira, market vendors at Lira Central market are yet to come to terms with the directives. The vendors have raised concerns over the lack of electricity and poor sanitary facilities at the market making it hard for them to sleep in the market.
