Mao says Besigye’s lawyers are dragging their feet on the case
The detention of Dr. Kizza Besigye and his aide Obeid Lutale has turned into a blame game, with the government accusing Besigye’s lawyers of delaying the execution of the Supreme Court orders. The Minister for Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Norbert Mao argues that Besigye’s lawyers have dragged their feet to obtain a decree for the implementation of the court orders. However, Dr Besigye’s lawyer, Erias Lukwago contends that the court decree is a prerequisite without which an order cannot be implemented.
