Museveni accuses Besigye of seeking public sympathy
President Museveni has blamed the incarcerated Dr. Kizza Besigye of engaging in a hunger strike to gain sympathy and release, instead of demanding for a quick trial. Museveni has likened Besigye's actions to "unprincipled blackmail" instead of looking to have the serious charges he faces resolved in a court of law.
As DANIEL KIBET reports, whereas the head of state seems to be unhappy with his long-time political rival and former bush war ally, Parliament is concerned that the government has largely ignored Dr Besigye's alarming health condition.
