Ministry of Water and Environment calls for support in fighting impunity
The Ministry of Water and Environment has rallied Ugandans to support the government in fighting all impunity regarding the degradation of the country’s natural resources. This comes at a time when the country’s wetlands are experiencing increasing pressure.
Addressing journalists in Kampala today ahead of World Wetland Day, the commissioner for wetlands, David Okurut, however, says the government has registered steady progress in the restoration of degraded wetlands, with over 5,000 hectares restored last year.
